The victim of a shooting over the weekend in Marion was removed from life support Tuesday, confirming the case as a Grant County homicide. 31-year-old Amy Ginger was robbed by two black males at the Ambrosia Inn Sunday morning and was shot in the head. Allen County Deputy Coroner Mike Burris says she was pronounced brain dead on Monday, but remained on life-support for organ donation. Ginger was taken off of life support Tuesday night and an autopsy was performed today (Wednesday). Burris says it’s standard procedure to make a death declaration once there is no brain activity, even though the heart is still beating. He says they also work with the family in the process.
Meanwhile the suspects in Ginger’s death remain on the run. Marion Police are urging anyone with any information to contact them immediately.
