The family of a Huntington teenager severely injured in a parasailing accident in Florida last March has filed suit against the parasailing company.
The Huntington “Herald-Press” reports the family of 17-year old Alexis Fairchild filed suit in Florida, seeking damages and medical expenses that may reach into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Fairchild and her friend...17-year old Sidney Good of Roanoke...were both critically injured when the tow rope broke while they were parasailing in Panama City, Florida last March. Strong winds sent the girls crashing into a building, a power line and eventually into a parked car on the ground.
The suit claims the parasailing company was negligent in its operations, which led to the accident.
Both girls have recovered, but face years of rehabilitation from the brain injuries that each received in the accident.
