Starting this summer, the Indiana University School of Medicine in Muncie will expand to a full four-year, Medical degree program.
The “Star Press” reports there are some that say the expansion is long overdue, given Indiana’s shortage of doctors.
According to the Association of American Medical Colleges, Indiana ranks 39th in the country for the number of students enrolled in medical school, and the state ranks 37th nationally in the number of active physicians per 100,000 population.
