According to the State Department of Health, the number of flu deaths in Indiana this season has risen to 30.
One of the main culprits is the H-1-N-1 virus, which typically affects younger and even healthier people more than other strains of flu. Twenty of the deaths in Indiana were people between the ages of 25 and 64.
Health officials say another reason for an increase in flu-related deaths is that many of those younger people who died had not bothered to get a flu shot.
