Indiana January Unemployment Report Shows Improvement

Indiana’s unemployment report for January shows significant improvements in the state, with the jobless rate at its lowest level since September of 2008. The state’s jobless rate in January dropped four-tenths of a percent to 6.4%. That rate is lower than any of the states surrounding Indiana and is also lower than the national rate.
In Grant County, the unemployment rate held steady from December to January at 7.3%. Blackford County inched lower to 7.4%, but jobless rates in Delaware, Madison, Howard, Miami, Wabash, Huntington and Wells counties all went up slightly in January.
