Indiana Shopping Online & Taxes

Are you doing your holiday shopping online? If so, you may owe the state of Indiana some money come tax time next year.
The “Use Tax” in Indiana has been around since 1969, but it‘s become a bigger deal since the advent of shopping online. It‘s the tax you are supposed to pay if you do not pay the state‘s sales tax on items you purchase.
Chetrice Mosley with the state Department of Revenue, says you are responsible for checking to see if your online retailer is charging Indiana sales taxes.
