The president of Ivy Tech Community College says part of President Obama‘s health care law could force the two-year college system to either raise prices or limit access to college classes for students who can‘t take them elsewhere.
Thomas Snyder says the Affordable Care Act has caused the school to re-evaluate teaching hours for their adjunct faculty. He says like most community colleges, their funding does not provide for unfunded mandates, such as the provision under the Affordable Care Act that employees who work at least 30 hours per week must be provided health insurance.
