Judge Manuel Guerrero Dies

by Sammy Edmonds posted Jan 21 2014 4:09PM
The first Latino to hold public office in Grant County has died.

Manuel Guerrero served as Circuit Court Judge in Grant County in the 1960’s and early 70’s.  He died Tuesday at the age of 78.  When he was first elected in 1964, Guererro was the youngest judge in Grant County history.

After losing a re-election bid in 1970, Guerrero became a law professor at the University of Minnesota and later started a private law practice with his brothers.
