MPD Deputy Police Chief Day Will Run for Sheriff

by Sammy Edmonds posted Dec 3 2013 2:53PM
Marion Deputy Police Chief David Day has announced he is running for Grant County Sheriff next year.

Day says he naturally became interested in running knowing Grant County Sheriff Darryl Himelick cannot run for another term.

Day says his leadership experience started in Grant County but has developed over the years.  He graduated from the Police Executive Leadership Academy, and earlier this year graduated as a leader among his peers from the FBI National Academy.

Day graduated from Taylor University and has served over 20 years with the Marion Police Department, most recently as deputy chief of the uniformed division.

Day will run on the Republican ticket against Grant County Sheriff’s Captain Kevin Pauley and Grant County Detective Sergeant Reggie Nevels.
