Main Street Marion Gets Its? Money

by Sammy Edmonds posted Jan 2 2014 10:31AM
Thursday the Marion-Grant County Senior Center got a large check from the city of Marion to catch the city up on its’ financial obligation to the organization.  Today it was Main Street Marion.
Mayor Wayne Seybold presented Main Street Marion Executive Director Loretta Walker with a check for 30-thousand dollars to meet the city’s budgeted commitment to that organization.
Seybold said he’s glad the city can give out the money like it should.
Budget constraints over the past year or so had city officials holding off on paying bills until they knew the city could do so.  Seybold said it’s nice to know that they can pay those commitments now.
Seybold said details on the city’s financial status for the end of the year will be released early next week.
