A Marion man is jailed without bond after allegedly strangling his girlfriend and threatening her with a gun.
The 18-year-old victim told Marion Police that her boyfriend…25-year-old Edward Brummett…strangled her earlier that day in their home and she claimed he punched her in the face and pointed a gun at her.
When Brummett arrived to pick her up from work Wednesday, officers were waiting. They discovered a handgun inside his vehicle that fit the description the victim gave police and they then arrested him. While searching him officers found marijuana in his pocket.
Brummett was taken to the Grant County Jail on charges of Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury, Strangulation, Pointing a Firearm, Carrying a Handgun without a Permit and Possession of Marijuana over 30 Grams.
