The City of Marion is among six communities selected as finalists for this year’s Stellar Communities program. The six were selected by the Office of Community and Rural Affairs, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Each finalist city will receive funds to produce a strategic investment plan for developing their community and a team will visit each location. Two communities will be selected as recipients of the Stellar Communities grant this summer.
Marion Mayor Wayne Seybold says they are excited to be chosen as a finalist for the innovative program.
The City of Wabash is also a finalist along with Mount Vernon, Huntingburg, Decatur and Nashville.
The Stellar Communities program funds comprehensive development projects in Indiana’s smaller communities.
