It appears Fire Station One in Marion did not suffer major structural damage in the wind storm that hit the city in mid-November.
City Fire Chief Paul David said inspectors have determined that no serious damage occurred when the storm blew down an old radio tower onto the concrete roof of the station located in downtown Marion.
Chief David said the sagging roof is visible in the sleeping quarters of the fire station, but inspectors say it poses no serious risk.
David said he’s received one damage estimate and will get two more before deciding what can be done to repair the building.
Personnel from Fire Station One have been distributed to other city fire stations since the storm struck it in mid-November.
