Four people were arrested late Sunday night after police found meth cooking in a Marion home over the weekend. The Joint Effort Against Narcotics Unit arrived to the 600-block of Coulton Court and immediately smelled an odor consistent with meth being cooked. They then searched the home and found a meth pot in the basement. Three children were discovered in the home along with four adults.
Jean Team Captain Mark Stefanatos says the children were removed by CPS and all checked out fine at the hospital, but could have easily been exposed.
He says although not much meth was found, the charges will also likely be escalated due to the home being government housing, located within 1,000 feet of a school in the presence of children.
Homeowner, 28-year-old Lacy Thompson, was arrested for resisting law enforcement in addition to meth-related charges. 22-year-old Kathleen Oram of Marion, 19-year-old Ashley Paschall and 43-year-old Marvin Anderson of Syracuse were arrested on related charges.
