The 26th Annual Mississinewa 1812 Living History event this weekend features everything about the past, but with some new blood.
Mississinewa 1812 re-enacts life in Territorial Indiana 1812 at the time of the great battle between area Indian tribes and American troops in what is now northern Grant County.
Jeff Secrest is the new President of the Mississinewa 1812 organizing group, and he said it was the history of the event and people around it drew him into the organization…
Mississinewa 1812 will feature hundreds of period re-enactors, who are drawn to the event by its’ authenticity. They like the fact that there is no electricity at the site and everything involving the re-enactors must be from 1812 or before. They also like it because it’s at the site of the actual 1812 battle.
Mississinewa 1812 runs through Sunday at the battlefield site…located just north of Marion off State Road 15.
