November Unemployment Report

by Sammy Edmonds posted Jan 2 2014 11:16AM
Indiana gained more than 25-thousand jobs in November...the largest one-month increase on record.  That helped the state’s unemployment figure drop to 7-point-3 percent.

But Grant County’s jobless figure went up last month to 8-point-4 percent...an increase of three-tenths of a percent.  Miami County’s jobless number held steady at 8-point-7 percent...8th highest in the state.  Blackford County went up to 8-point-5 percent, ranking it 9th highest in Indiana.

Wells County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in this part of Indiana with 6-point-3 percent, but that’s half a percent from the previous month.
