Oak Hill?s 2-Year Technology Improvement Plan

by Sammy Edmonds posted Jan 29 2014 3:39PM
After two years of focusing on improving technology in its schools, Oak Hill school officials say they have a lot to show for their efforts.

Technology Coordinator Brandt Lynch says some of the biggest changes have included adding corporate-wide wireless capabilities, updated security, storage, and backup systems, increased bandwidth, and new equipment in classrooms. They’ve also improved technological support offered on their website for parents, teachers and students.

Starting in August, Oak Hill will incorporate a “1-to-1” initiative, in which each of Oak Hill High School student will receive a Chromebook to use for class and take-home work. Lynch says that has been a huge motivator behind the other updates.

Lynch says they don’t plan to add the initiative for the younger grades at this time, but they will receive classroom Chromebooks and iPads to be used in the school.
