by Sammy Edmonds posted Nov 27 2013 2:55PM
A Marion man was arrested for trying to escape after hitting a pedestrian with his car Monday afternoon.

24-year-old James Gary Junior was reportedly traveling in the 100-block of North Baldwin Avenue when he struck 50-year-old Michael Hancock with his vehicle.  Hancock was flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment of a head injury.

Gary was found shortly after the accident at Greentree Apartments and was arrested for Leaving the Scene of an Accident causing Serious Bodily Injury and Operating a Vehicle Without a License.

One week ago, a pedestrian was killed while crossing a nearby Marion street.
