Propane Amendment in the Works

by Sammy Edmonds posted Jan 29 2014 3:43PM
Some Indiana state senators have offered up an amendment they say will help Hoosiers affected by the Midwest propane shortage.  The amendment to Senate Bill 1 eliminates the sales tax on propane that costs more than $2.50 a gallon.

Senators John Waterman of Shelburn, Doug Eckerty of Yorktown and Jim Smith of Charlestown announced the amendment Tuesday morning.  They‘ll officially introduce it to a Senate committee Tuesday afternoon.

Senator Waterman says if the move is ultimately approved, customers would get a credit on their next propane bill.
