Roads in Bad Shape From Snowstorm

by Sammy Edmonds posted Feb 10 2014 3:38PM
Grant County is been now under a Travel Warning...the “Red” designation...which means travel is restricted to only emergency vehicles or emergency situations.

Captain Justin Faw of the Marion Police Department says city streets are in bad shape, though motorists were helpful overnight by staying home.

Grant County Sheriff’s Department officials say many county roads are drifted shut and even several local highways are drifted shut in many places.

There have been several reports of cars sliding off roadways and many even getting stuck in the middle of the road.  Several cars were stranded for several hours along State Road 13 between Swayzee and Highway 18 following a minor accident.  That area has since been cleared of stranded vehicles.

Police urge you to stay off the roads if at all possible.
