The Indiana State Senate approved legislation to support greater flexibility for state microbrewery sales.
The bill, authored by Senator Jim Banks, allows microbreweries to sell their products not only at permitted restaurants and retailers as before, but also farmers’ markets and trade shows.
The legislation also permits distillers to hold a restaurant retail permit, further expanding their market.
Banks says this will enable the 70 licensed microbreweries in Indiana to build more solid foundations for their new businesses.
The bill will now go on to the House of Representatives for approval.
