Seybold Officially Files for State Treasurer

by Sammy Edmonds posted Jan 22 2014 3:33PM
Three-term mayor of Marion, Wayne Seybold, officially filed for the office of State Treasurer Tuesday.
A press release issued by Seybold’s campaign states his filing follows recent announcements that the City of Marion ended 2013 with a 2-million dollar surplus, and that Standard and Poor’s most recent rating has upgraded the city’s Park Bond Rating from a Triple-B-Minus to an A-minus with a stable outlook.
Seybold says his experience in Marion is directly applicable to the State Treasurer’s position, after managing budgets for the City as well as businesses he’s operated.
Seybold is the first candidate to file on the Republican ballot for the position.
