In an effort to increase student success, a new statewide initiative says that after ISTEP testing, schools will receive not only letter grades, but data about student growth rates.
Eastbrook Superintendent Brett Garrett says the new information is designed to help increase student accountability, as well as give teachers a better idea of what to focus on in the future.
Garrett says education is becoming increasingly about how students grow overall, and not just achieve set goals.
Schools will receive this growth information for every student in grades 4 through 8.
