It took about a month of trying, but the small satellite designed by engineering students at Taylor University finally went into space on Good Friday.
The satellite went into space Friday afternoon when the Space-X rocket launched after three delays due to various problems. And shortly after launch on Friday, the Taylor satellite was successfully deployed into orbit.
The Cubesat satellite weighs less than three pounds and is only four inches long. The small nano-satellite will be used to test communications satellites. It’s the third such nano-satellite designed by Taylor students that have gone into space and a fourth one is expected to be approved soon by NASA.
