Thousands of Grant County residents could be without power all week due to extensive damage from Sunday’s storms.
Indiana Michigan Power officials say more than fifty utility poles were damaged in the Marion area. Spokeman Tracy Warner says they’re doing their best to assess damage quickly, but he says it may be Friday at 11pm before all power is restored to the 3,500 affected customers.
Meanwhile in the Kokomo district, Duke Energy officials yesterday afternoon reported about 10-thousand customers remain without electricity. Duke Spokesperson Laura Sheets says they hope to have power restored there by noon on Wednesday.
