Today is the First Day to File for May Primary

by Sammy Edmonds posted Jan 20 2014 4:08PM

Today is the first day for candidates to file for Indiana‘s May primary.  Kokomo Senator Jim Buck found himself first in line.

Buck holds one of 25 state Senate seats up for election this year, along with all 100 state House seats, Indiana‘s nine U.S. House seats and assorted county offices.

The Senate elections are the first time those seats have been up for election under new district lines drawn in 2011.

Buck‘s new district gives him new constituents in Grant and Clinton Counties, and expands his territory from parts of Howard and Tipton Counties to the entirety of those counties.
