Transferring Property for Dunham?s Distribution Center

by Sammy Edmonds posted Feb 26 2014 3:44PM
Marion city officials are moving quickly to transfer property so that Dunham’s can begin work on the company’s new distribution center at I-69 and State Road 18.

The City Board of Works voted to transfer part of the property needed for the site of the new facility, with a second parcel needing transferred by Grant County officials.

City Attorney Don Galloway says the moves are necessary to get the property into the hands of Dunham’s.

Once all the properties have been transferred to Dunham’s, ground can be broken on the 735-thousand square foot facility.  About 250 employees work at Dunham’s current facility, but another 135 will be added once the new distribution center is completed.

Dunham’s wants to open that facility early next year.
