State Representative P. Eric Turner says he’s confident that he’ll get a clean bill of health from the House Ethics Committee Wednesday regarding questions over his comments in caucus on an issue in which his family has a financial interest.
Turner’s comments came during a Republican caucus on a proposed nursing home moratorium that was proposed during this past legislative session. The matter died before it ever reached the House floor for a vote. Turner’s son is nursing home developer and his daughter has lobbied for the industry. Turner did abstain from voting on the issue when it came up in committee hearings.
Turner says he did nothing wrong.
The Ethics Committee will make its’ recommendation on the matter Wednesday afternoon.
