Two Central Indiana men are among 11 Americans who federal authorities have busted in a child pornography ring. U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett says the men ran a "super-secret," highly-encrypted online operation that involved the transferring of hundreds of thousands of child porn images of teen boys to toddler boys. Hogsett says the men operated in online chat rooms on hidden servers for years. Authorities say about 100 children from all over the world have been rescued as a result of the federal probe.
Senior Litigation Counsel Steve DeBrota says the probe began with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service‘s investigation of an Idaho company it believed was selling child porn videos. DeBrota says that led to other states including Indiana.
61-year-old John Edwards of Indianapolis and 44-year-old Thomas Vaughn of Anderson are in custody.
