An armed robbery at a Marion convenience store early this morning led to a high-speed pursuit that covered two counties, but resulted in six suspects being arrested.
Authorities say the suspects robbed the Village Pantry at 9th and Miller Avenue early this morning and stole several cartons of cigarettes...the third time the store has been robbed of cigarettes in the past ten days. But this time, police were in the area and tried to stop the suspect vehicle.
Police say the car sped off west of Marion with officers in pursuit and speeds reached more than 110 miles an hour. The suspects’ vehicle cut through fields and avoided stop sticks until officers finally stopped the vehicle near Kokomo and arrested the six people inside the vehicle.
No one was injured in the pursuit, which involved officers from Marion, the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, the Howard County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police.
Police are still investigating, but say they apparently have solved the three robberies at the Village Pantry at 9th and Miller Avenue with the arrest of the suspects early today.
