A Purdue University student faces a preliminary murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting Tuesday on campus.
23-year-old Cody Cousins of Warsaw was arrested immediately following the shooting after he had fired four or five shots then surrendered to police. One of those shots killed 21-year-old Andrew Boldt of West Bend, Wisconsin. Police say the incident was isolated and intentional and not a random shooting.
Both students were listed as seniors in the College of Engineering.
Classes are canceled Wednesday while police continue to investigate the crime scene, and students have a chance to talk to on-campus counselors.
