Marion Police continue to investigate a weekend armed robbery at a local convenience store.
Employees of the Village Pantry in the 22-hundred block of West 9th Street told police that a man wearing a mask entered the store just after 1:30 Saturday morning, pointed at the clerk with his right hand inside his jacket pocket and demanded cash. The register reportedly froze as the clerk was trying to get the money out. The store manager then opened the drawer and gave the suspect the money before the suspect fled on foot.
Police say the suspect was a black male about 5-foot-10 wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans and a black mask and gloves.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Marion Police.
