Wabash has been awarded a state grant for the purpose of improving its quality of place projects.
The Place Based Investment Fund grant was given to six Indiana communities, including Hobart, Jasper, Madison, Parke County, Hope, and Wabash. The fund comes from collaboration between the Office of Community and Rural Affairs and the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, and is awarded to communities based on their creativity and ingenuity.
Now in its second year, the fund is granting $300-thousand dollars to support economic development in the six communities. The money is intended for local initiatives that improve both quality of resident life and tourism experiences, such as parks and public venues.
