Piles of snow, strong winds and extremely cold temperatures and wind chills continue to play havoc in the area.
First it was a foot of snow that fell on the region Sunday, followed by strong winds that continue to drift roads shut, plus sub-zero temperatures and dangerously cold wind chill factors that make it dangerous just to be outside for extended periods of time.
Virtually all schools in the area are closed again today, including colleges and universities like Indiana Wesleyan, Taylor, Ball State, I-U Kokomo and Ivy Tech campuses in the area. Taylor officials at first were going to re-open today, but changed their minds after re-examining forecasts that include a Wind Chill Warning through tonight.
Grant and all surrounding counties remain under Travel Warnings, which mean travel should be restricted to emergencies or vital needs only.
All county government offices in Grant County are closed again today and the Marion City Council has cancelled tonight’s scheduled meeting.
