A Gas City man faces charges after lunging toward the defendant during a sentencing hearing in Grant County Superior Court Two.
Bobby Rheam had just testified during the sentencing hearing involving Tyrell Lenoir, who pleaded guilty of Assisting a Criminal for his part in the murder of Rheam’s daughter, Ashley, last year.
But as Rheam tried to attack Lenoir, a Grant County Sheriff’s deputy tackled Rheam while others rushed Lenoir from the courtroom and other tried to quiet the onlookers inside the packed courtroom.
Rheam was taken to the Grant County Jail where Sheriff Darrell Himelick said Rheam will likely be charged with disorderly conduct.
The hearing was halted for several minutes, but later resumed with Lenoir receiving five years in prison for his part in the crime.
One deputy was taken to Marion General Hospital to be checked out for a bump on the head, but otherwise no one was injured during the incident.
