Halloween Rules for Sex Offenders in Indiana

Indiana‘s parole division is taking its usual Halloween precautions with sex offenders away from trick-or-treaters. But a foul weather forecast is prompting some last-minute changes.

Paroled sex offenders are required to turn their lights off on Halloween night, and post a sign saying "no trick-or-treating." They aren‘t even allowed to put up decorations.
But several central Indiana cities have put off trick-or-treating till Friday because of storms in the forecast. The Department of Correction will call an audible and order lights out Friday for offenders in those cities.
