The Kokomo Firefighters Union has filed a grievance against the city and is asking for arbitration in their ongoing contract talks with the city.
But the city has denied the firefighters request for arbitration as the two sides negotiate a new contract. That led to the grievance being filed by the union, saying the city is not bargaining in good faith.
City officials say they will examine the grievance under terms of their current collective bargaining agreement.
