National Weather Service officials Monday confirmed that an EF-1 tornado briefly touched down near downtown Muncie Sunday afternoon near Muncie Central High School, damaging the football stadium and the historic Muncie Fieldhouse.
Meanwhile, Weather Service officials also confirmed that a stronger, EF-2 tornado touched down near Eaton Sunday afternoon, and possibly a second one in that area. The storms then progressed to Dunkirk and on to the Portland area causing consider property damage before moving into Ohio.
