A Grant County man who spent many years volunteering with the Special Olympics programs has been named posthumously as Indiana’s Special Olympics Volunteer of the Year.
Cody Harris died unexpectedly earlier this year, but received the prestigious award from the Indiana Special Olympics organization for his work with special Olympians.
Grant County officials who knew and worked with Harris said no one deserved the award more than he did.
It’s estimated that Harris worked with more than 150 local Special Olympians over the years.
