A former Miami County man has received a pardon from Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, 17-years after he committed several crimes on school property.
In the letter of pardon, Matthew Voorhees was cited for completing his sentence, making restitution, completing several rehabilitative programs and then joining several prisoner reform groups. The governor’s letter says Voorhees is now a credit to society and that he should be rewarded for it.
Vorhees is now 38 and living in North Dakota.
