Many Indiana state parks will be closed a part of this week for controlled deer hunts.
Indiana Department of Natural Resources officials say the affected parks will be closed until Wednesday. The affected parks include Chain O’Lakes, Charlestown, Clifty Falls, Fort Harrison, Harmonie, Lincoln, McCormick’s Creek, Ouabache, Pokagon and Trine State Recreation Area, Potato Creek, Shades, Shakamak, Spring Mill, Tippecanoe River, Versailles, and Whitewater Memorial.
Only hunters who were pre-selected in September may take part in the hunts. The deer reductions help maintain the natural habitat in the state parks.
