Unemployment was lower than ever in January in this area.
While the state jobless rate stood at 3.3-percent, area unemployment figures were also low.
Grant, Blackford, Delaware and Madison counties had the highest jobless numbers in the area and that was only 4.1-percent. Tipton County had the lowest at 3.1-percent. Howard County stood at 3.5-percent, Miami County 4.0-percent, Huntington County 3.9-percent, Wabash County at 3.8-percent and Wells County 3.3-percent.
