Fiat-Chrysler is recalling 4.8-million vehicles that could have issues turning off cruise control.
The company says the malfunction can be triggered when the car accelerates under cruise control, which the car may do in order to maintain its speed while climbing a hill.
This could potentially cause a short circuit and lock the vehicle into cruise control.
Fiat-Chrysler is asking owners of the recalled vehicles to take them to dealerships for a no-cost software update that can solve the issue.
