A longtime advocate for education in Howard County has been honored by the state of Indiana for her work.
Marilyn Skinner was given the Golden Hoosier Award by Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch for her service and commitment to the community.
Skinner retired in 1996 after a long career as a teacher and administrator in Kokomo.
