The town of Van Buren will again celebrate its’ heritage with popcorn starting tonight with the start of the 46th annual Van Buren Popcorn Festival. The ferstival runs through Saturday night with many activities on tap.
Van Buren has long claimed to be the “Popcorn Capital of the World,” thanks to the Weaver Popcorn Company being based there. It’s by far the town’s largest employer and the mainstay of the town’s economy.
The highlight of tonight’s opening evening at the Popcorn Festival will be the huge parade, starting at 6:30…followed by the crowning of the festival royalty.
