One Indianapolis man was killed and another critically injured Friday evening when their pickup truck crashed along I-69 in Grant County, just south of the Marion exit.
State Police say a pickup driven by 59-year old Aaron Bates of Indianapolis drifted into the passing lane and then over-corrected, causing the truck to roll over and land in a ditch after hitting several trees. Bates was ejected from the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger…35-year old Henry Tillberry…was also thrown from the truck. He was flown to an Indianapolis hospital in critical condition.
State Police say neither man was wearing a seat belt. Investigators are trying to figure out why the truck went out of control.
