A team of nursing students and their instructors from Indiana Wesleyan University have been evacuated from Haiti amid growing turmoil and political unrest in the Caribbean nation.
The nursing team from Indiana Wesleyan was part of a Semester Abroad program where the nursing students and their instructors serve hospitals in foreign lands for a semester as on-the-job training.
As the political unrest grew in Haiti, U-S officials recommended Americans leave Haiti for their own safety. The I-W-U nursing flew to Florida late last week and has since returned to the Marion campus.
