USDA: Farmers more than 60 percent behind schedule

New data from the USDA shows Hoosier farmers are still more than 60 percent behind schedule in planting corn compared to the last five years.

This is due to “very abnormal” ground wetness, said Farm Bureau Insurance Agent Gary Odle.

Farmers say they will likely take a hit as a result, even with government programs that help cover some of the losses.
