If you have a pet hedgehog you might want to keep the snuggling to a minimum.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is monitoring a salmonella outbreak that could be linked to hedgehogs.
Twenty-seven people, including children, have been infected in 17 states. Two of those cases are in Indiana.
The CDC said that 18 out of 20 people interviewed had contact with a hedgehog. Hedgehogs can carry Salmonella germs in their droppings. These germs can be easily spread to their bodies, bedding and toys.
