Nearly 180,000 battery-powered smoke and fire detectors are being recalled because they might not work in a fire.
Universal Security Instruments is recalling two models of smoke and fire alarms sold online and in stores between July 2015 and December 2016.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the alarms can have a misaligned internal switch that can cause the alarm not to sound during a fire.
To find out if your alarm is being recalled, press the test button. If the alarm doesn’t go off, immediately contact Universal Security for a replacement.
